Prior to attending university I spent a year on a training course
with the UK Ministry Of Defense. At the MOD, the focus was on project
management, presentations, and working as a team in addition to
programming. This course gave me a good background for university,
giving me confidence and an understanding of how my university education
would be applied in the real world. I have been lucky to receive a fantastic education. The most significant part of that was my Master's degree at Imperial College, London. This is one of the top three universities in the UK and I earned first class honours. I also won the final year project prize which is "awarded to final year MEng students for an outstanding individual project". See University for more information on this. I have educated myself on many subjects, especially the latest technologies and frameworks. This is especially important in the software development field as everything evolves so quickly. It is very important to stay up to date. I have actively focused on this outside of employment as well as attending courses as part of my employment. These courses have ranged from programming through to project and people management. |
